Our Story

How it started.

I grew up in Gem Sub County, watching young women my age walk into artisanal gold mines every morning — not out of ambition, but because no better option existed. Farming and informal mining were declining, failing options, and nothing else was on offer.

I wanted to build something different: a craft-led business where skill is trained properly, work is dignified, and the standard is never negotiable. Unity Tailors started small. Today it's a working atelier, built one trained artisan and one well-cut garment at a time.

Mercy Oduor

Founder & CEO

Mercy built Unity Tailors from the ground up, and it shows in the fit of every garment that leaves the workshop. Her eye for cut, cloth, and construction comes from years spent mastering bespoke tailoring by hand — the kind of expertise that can't be rushed or shortcut. She leads the atelier with the same standard she started with: nothing leaves the floor unless it's right.

Antony Okoth

Co-Founder

A trained tailor with a filmmaker's eye for detail and story, Antony brings a rare combination to the workshop — precise handwork paired with a sharp sense for how a garment should look, move, and feel on camera and in real life.

John Paul

CTO

John Paul builds the technology behind the atelier, from software systems to AI-driven automation. His work is what lets Unity Tailors bring the precision of a traditional workshop into a modern, digitally-enabled fitting experience.
